The anti-Wall Street protesters are making a statement that should make big government listen.

"Big Government" is what they WANT, not what they're against. More regulation, more laws, but only according to what they think is the truth. Just look at the most recent Presidential debate. The candidates were asked if they were shocked that no bankers on Wall Street had gone to jail for their role in the financial crisis, the implication being that they should be shocked. When Michelle Bachmann and Newt Gingrich responded by mentioning Chris Dodd's sweethart deal with Countrywide mortgage and the "Friends of Angelo" program, and Barney Frank's role in forcing banks to give loans to people who most likely would never repay them, (The Community Reinvestment Act), Charlie Rose responded with "Clearly, clearly, you're not suggesting THESE men should go to jail." So, it's punishment and jail they want, but ONLY for those they disagree with. Doesn't sound very much like a Democratic Republic to me, it sounds like something else entirely.
