Obama proposes cuts in spending, saving Medicare and Medicaid and asking the wealthy to pay more in taxes to help others who don't make as much. That's good!
That was a reelection campaign speech, not a substantive policy plan, and I think Obama will find that people outside of his base don't subscribe to the forced redistribution of wealth as much as he thinks they do. "From each according to his ability, to each according to his need", is a noble ideal when done voluntarily, but, when it's forced, it's called Communism. The man who said the above quote, Karl Marx, also said, "The last Capitalist we hang will be the one who sold us the rope."
