The iCitizenForum Film Project
A Collaborative Documentary Film
The iCitizenForum Team has created an open-source collaborative documentary film project to investigate the idea of citizenship in the 21st-century global marketplace.
Our Mission
The objective of the iCitizenForum Film Project is to engage the public in a journey that explores citizenship in the 21st century. iCitizenForum.com will offer Web users a chance to interact with and take part in the iCitizen journey. We’ll create a film from the information we’ve gathered and from your comments and observations. We’ll keep you posted on the film’s progress.
Who is iCitizen?
iCitizen is you. iCitizen is the person who stood in line with you at Starbucks this morning. iCitizen is all of us who share concerns about the rights of citizens at the dawn of the new millennium—a metaphorical character who is participating in a journey to discover the meaning of citizenship today. What are your rights? Where do your rights come from? Have your rights changed? What are your responsibilities? How do iCitizens avoid becoming subjects?
About the Documentary
The iCitizenForum Film Project differs from traditional documentaries in four fundamental ways:
- There are no pre-conceived goals or conclusions. The ideas to be included in the final film will evolve with the project.
- All stages of production will be documented on the Web. Footage will be placed on our site with little editing so that Web users can follow the film’s progress.
- Web users will be able to participate in the film by making comments, contributing content, providing leads, or suggesting follow-up questions.
- Web users will be able to contribute articles, book reviews, or ideas to add to the research and narrative.
