So, the question becomes, "What could ensure the right candidates get into the race?"
My answer is a more responsible and involved electorate.
As viewership of television continues to erode, candidates will need to shift their messages to other areas, primarily the Web, a mammoth and diluted pool of information.
This clearly will have a bearing on their ability to glean support and might create a way to lead potential voters back to a position of civic responsibility.
